Russian Bears Emigrate in Finnland
The notice I read yesterday struck me: broun bears run away from Russia in Finnland. There were different cases in the last period. Boarder guards try to send them back but the animals become often agressive. Both Finnish and Russian soldiers found a bear female that tryed to cross the frontline and wanted to send her back. But the bear become to dangerous for humans and they killed her.
Everybody knows that animals remain in their territory if there is not something that sends them away from their houses. I think, the board guards had to alarm scientists of forest rangers and control the situation. Instead of kill the animals. Specially a mother with a cub.

Polar Bears And Dogs
I thought you will like this video too. There are other "slide-show" on YouTube about a polar bear and a dog playing. Unfortunatelly the reaity is not always so peaceful. So, don't become too relaxed. Polar bears kill the dogs too. Wild animals are wild animals and maybe the owner of these dogs had to be not so carefree.

National geographic about most endangered bears
I have never seen this bear. Imagin you too. This is Andean bear, spectacled bear that lives from Argentina to Panama and is the last South America's remaining species.
In the post about the most endangered bears published by National Geographic there are 8 species.
Here I knew, that grizzly is a subspecie of a brown bear, and about the smallest (120- to 150-centimeter-long) bear, Sun bear, that lives in Southeast Asia, in Thailand, and write the article it's number was reduced by 50% in 20 years.
It's the first time in my life that I hear about these species of bear.

Polar bear is so little
photo is from this site
photo from the site Polar bears international
I read and heared in TV different notices about Arctic and polar bears in the last days. Sad notices. The ice is in bad conditions, the bears canot live their normal life because they need ice to hunt.
There were bears on every step 100 years ago, you can see no one for many days today. So I wanted to read more in internet about them. Yes, I wrote different posts dedicated to polar bears, but Ifeel it to repeat this theme.
Ursus maritimus is his name in latin. The world's largest land carnivore, till 3 meters long, 1,3-1,6m high, 300-600 (1000) kg for adult male (half of this for female), skin is black with translucent fur that appears white. Makes 30-40 km a day, easily overpasses 2 meters high ice-hummocks, eats about 50 seals a year. They live 19 years in nature, but in Detroit zoo there was a polar bear that lived 45 years.
The period of hunt is today 2-3 weeks shorter as earlier and bears weight 100 kg less than normal. It's not too good for reproduction. They make often only 1 kid.
There are about 20,000 to 25,000 bears in Arctic (60% in Canada). In 60th they were near to extinction, but now we can see that the fight for the nature is not wane.
Here you can hear the nice voice of the polar bear
