Endagered Species -Orangutans

I'm very happy to present you Berry Sudirno from Indonesia, author of these interesting blogs:
howtoboostyourwealth,
journeytomakemoney,
sweetjourneyinmylife
and his article that I publish here.

Orangutans (Pongo pygmaeus) are endangered species, nowadays they are found only at the parts of Sumatera and Kalimantan (Borneo) of Indonesian Archipelago. Their habitats are highly disturbed by illegal logging and other forest destructions.

Adult male orangutans can weight 90 kilograms, with his long arms they can grasp the tree branch, or use their weight to sway the trees so they could reach the other branch.

Orangutans living at the tree top as their home, they eat fruits, leaves, shoots and animal protein like insect, bird nest and eggs.

According to recent research by Harvard University psychologist, James Lee, orangutans are the world most intelligent animal other than humans, with higher learning and problem solving ability than Chimpanzees, which were previously considered to have greater abilities (Wikipedia)

Orangutans live as single animals, young may stay until six years old, female are mature about ten years old, but they breed every five years until they reached 30 years age.

We ought to be doing our best to save endangered species.

Don't look at my girl!

I write sometimes about animal's attacs at the persons that are too invasive. It's the new case, notice by Daily Mail from 4th january with entire splendid reportage of photos

Interesting is this quater, I really like it.
So the important thing to remember when you're invited into a silverback gorilla's backyard is just who's the boss.

And this is the reason of this demonstration of force:
an American – got between the male gorilla and the true object of its attentions, a young female

He (this mail of gorilla) is even quite chummy with humans, whose money and patronage helps support the planet's desperately dwindling gorilla population.
There are currently fewer than 650 individuals scattered across several hundred square miles of this region and, without help, they could vanish.
I say, we had once a cock and sold him to one friend. The cock was very happy to own some hen all for him. One day mother in law of that man wanted to take eggs and entered in the henhouse. The cock kicked her so grave that she passed the day in a hospital.

What do you want from that enormous beast?

Hippo's,Gorilla's and Ranger's Tragedy

Thank you for all your encouragement and support. Please lobby. I do not know much about lobbying outside of my country and how you put pressure, but anything you can do to help us get back into the park and protect the animals will be much appreciated. Thank you to you all.

Director Norbert Mushenzi

This is an appeal from Virunga National Park. I wrote about the situation there maybe a month ago. That day, there were different rangers that went in the forest to protect gorillas and did not turn back. The good notice is, they are alive.

But the bad notice is that the rebels do not leave the park and continue to kill animals. For meat and for profit. Persons die too.

The direction of the park needs help. You can read about it in their blog here

They ask about not very great donations, from $15 if you see this special ranger's blog
Every blogger asks today money for a cup of coffee and I know, they receive this money sometimes. Here they speak not about coffee, but about help for survival of animals and of persons that die for really great reason.

Not only money are important. Leave your comments in their blogs to give them power in their fight. Everybody of us knows how is difficult to advance without a good word of other people.

Other addresses you can find in this my first post about them:

What happens with gorillas?

Yesterday I read about gorillas.

I liked to know a year or two ago these animals are alive after the war and then after the eruption of volcano. But the notice of some days ago seems to leave us, who admires these animals, without hope.

Scientists say, the hunters kill about 100 gorillas every year and today they, scientists, are sure, gorillas have no chance to survive.

Is it really true?
Maybe not perfectly so is the truth.
I found a blog of Gorilla Protection site of Virunga National Park. Here is a real war on the territory of gorillas. It began September 8th and is still not finished.

There is a YouTube chanel WildlifeDirect where you can see many beautiful videos. WildlifeDirect is established to provide support to Conservationists in Africa through blogging. You find different blogs and many interesting info on the site Endangered Animals in Africa

And I want to try now to send my question directly in Africa... and then write here the answer. If it will be.
