A good veterinarian is really very important if we have a pet. There are different reasons to look for somebody who fits for us and our friend, too. Our vet has to understand needs of various species of animals, he has to know their problems of health, he has to understand our personal state of mind, too, just like colorado springs veterinarians and other very attentive vets everywhere do.
Your furry (or not) friend is precious for you, and the vet has to understand your feelings when you come with this animal to him. It hurts you so much when your vet -even if he is a very brave doctor- treats your friend as a kind of common object that can be thrown in every moment. Unfortunately, it can happen. With two Rottweilers we had, we changed 3 veterinarians just for this reason.
There is an other point that is necessary to remember when you look for a doctor for your pet. Choose the vet who can explain you it's medical conditions and the ways of further development of the illness. It's so important to understand them so that you know what can happen and how can you help in this or that case. The doctor has to show you all the options of the treatments. He has to tell you why they can be the good way to follow. In our case, the vet continued expensive therapies when they could change nothing more without explaining us anything. The bill raises so much with unnecessary procedures. We want to pay a good vet and his work but not the cures given only to make you turn back always and pay something.
If you are looking for more detailed recommendations and advises about the choice of a veterinarian, visit Colorado Springs Veterinarians site where you will find different interesting articles about it.

Pet Health Advices and Videos
Сharitable services in Pet hospitals -is it possible today when the vet help, as any other help, has often too high costs? Well, fortunatelly, it's a reality, and that is why PDSA exists in UK.
Do you need pet health advice? You will find answers to your questions if you visit the site of PDSA. It's one of the most professionally and clearly organized pet help sites I've ever seen. Pet doctors tell about great variety of pets. There are advices on how to cure not only cats and dogs but chinchillas, hamsters, guinea pigs and other animals. Needs of all of them are explained in simple words, and there are pet help videos like one I add to this post, too.
PDSA offers different programs that will surely interest you. First among all of them -it's my point of view- is the educational Pet Protectors Club for children. Is it not important that the children learn how to care for the pets in the right way? Let's confess it: we cure our pets so as they were humans. PDSA teaches the children what our pets really need to be happy and healthy.
The other program of PDSA I like is the donation in memory of a person or a pet. How many times I wanted to celebrate my pets helping other pets? But I did not know how to do it. Who of you loved your pet so much can understand me.
An other way to help your pet and to protect it against illnesses and accidents is to purchase the PDSA pet insurance. It's useful against unexpected vet’s bills, too. This insurance has different benefits like cover against ongoing conditions and up to 5% online discounts, but what is very important -it allows PDSA to receive vital income to be able to help less fortunate pets.
Visit PDSA site and enjoy it!

Death...
I don't know how it's for you but I still can't accept the death. Specially, the death of those who thinks you are a kind of god, you can everything, it's enough to stay near you and all the deseases will pass and all the problems will be solved. Well, it's not only about animals.
So, I don't understand some persons that like to assist on "great" events. The death among them. Yes, it's the way the things exist in this world. But it's the Great Suffer. I don't think, it's humanely -to wait for the death and to laugh. Someone who is dieing passes different terrible stages of emotions. He suffers from the pains, he is afraid, he feels bad. I don't say he is afraid of dieing because I believe all us hope to go out of this situation till the last moment, animals, too. And all we -we hope these spectators are here to help us. They, spectators, will immediately understand that we feel bad and they will help.
This is what the dieing animal thinks. Feels. Hopes.
But those humans want only look at our sufferings. Only this. And ...they laugh.
Somebody tells us that we could not help that little elephant that remained without his mother and was fighting against the pride of lions. He noticed the car and neared it looking for help. But the documentarists went away and left that courageous child. They want only to look how he will be killed. They can't intervene. They want to watch the process of killing to show other spectators the process of killing.
They do not have soul. The do not have mercy in their souls. They do not have humanity.
We all those who want to watch it have not a soul.
Lion has to kill other animals because it's his way to survive. But lions do not watch and enjoy the process of killing just to see how an animal dies. To enjoy the process of dieing.

Animals' Babies
What can be more touching than the photos of the babies of any specie of living beings.
I had a day full of frustrations and decided to stumble some sites about animals. Practically the first I visited was a collection of cute babies. Like these ( Source)
(Source of the last photo)
Looking at them makes you smile, and, even if you do not forget the problems of our adult life, you become surely much more relaxed looking on them.
This cure, you can assume it in great quantities every day. :-)))

A Sad Story about Trustful Piglet
This sad story I noticed when I visited the Museum in Paestum, a very important excavation site not too far from Salerno. When I walked in the Roman part of it, Museum, I was fascinated by this statue: a woman that had this little piglet snuggled up trustfully to the ankle of the woman. I was on the point of shed a few tears about the great love and understanding that ancient persons demonstrated in confront to animals, and the passion for pigs-pets in Ancient Rome as today, that is immortalized in many statues and paintings, when I finally read the table under the feet of the woman.
Ahhh... Nothing romantic, my friends. The woman was a priestess of... well, I can't remember... Maybe Isis? And the poor trustful pig was the usual sacrificial offering to the Deity.
Well, it's surely not the same sort of love our animals enjoy today...

Animals Are Looking at You!
This photo I found today following a link posted by KittyKatCash. The author of the photo did a great job but I thought about the signs I've seen in some zoos (my translation is not perfect, tell me if I have errors): Do you behave as a human being? Be brave: Animals are looking at you!

Baby-Seals -Victory In Europe
«Baby seals protection» на Яндекс.Фотках
My first activity in internet was partecipation on the internet projects fighting the barbaric killing of the millions and millions of baby-seals. I opend a forum (I don't post there more because I had problems with it, but you can find else interesting photos and information there) and posted there different appeals of the animal protection organizations. I'm proud that some visitors of that forum signed that appeals. So I could help.
In the time I am in internet there were hundreds of appeals -and I rarely partecipate now. It's because they say all these internet appeals do not serve, they are zero, only words.
This morning I received a mail from baby-seals protection organization in Italy
«Baby seals protection» на Яндекс.Фотках
The mail told about great victory of the baby-seal protection: 500 000 persons signed that appeal and European Parlament forbot to sell sealproducts in Europe from the next year.
We can to speak about 2 great results:
First, dear friends, our partecipation on the nature protection and other projects serves to make the life on this planet i bit better!!!!!
Second, we WON!!!!!
If you want and can, pass the word. Go to the page under the photos and you can find codes if you open "Код для вставки на сайт или в блог" on the right side of every page.

New Species Found In 2008
On the photo from Wikipedia is Leptotyphlops carlae the smallest existant snake. It is blind and the adults are about 10 cm long. By the way, biologist S. Blair Hedges is a person that discovered about 80 new species!
The other interesting new species of ant were found near Manaus. Martialis heureka is it's name. There were known only 3 ants of this species but 2 of them were lost
An other discovery of this year is Tridacna costata, a gian clam. It's shell can arrive 200 kg! I could not imagine that something like this can exist on the earth else! The photo is from BBC News and there is an article for those who wants to read more.
I thought there are only this types of animals to discover (insects, fishes...). But I was not right. This year were discovered new birds and even mammals ( Carpomys melanurus, a rat)!

Like to Complain About Our Pets:
1. They live here. You don’t.
2. If you don’t want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture.
That’s why they call it ‘fur’niture..
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it’s an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter
who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn’t speak clearly.

Other interesting information:
Moscow. In the families there are
1,7 millions of children
2 millions of dogs
1,5 millions of cats
+ birds, reptilies etc.
Do you think it's only in Moscow? I heared something like this about UK. Surely it will be not so here, in Sud of Italy where I live, there are not so many animal-lovers in our zone. But it will be the same in North Italy where there are many great cities and industry. Because I think it's the fenomen of great cities mostly.
I read once that Saint-Exupéry wrote: as more I know the dogs as less I love humans. Excuse me the bad translation but I hope the main thought is clear.
People in the cities do not maintain "normal" relations with the neighbours. They have not time to have them even with relatives. They do not make children because those need time and too much money.
Why are pets better? During the day we have to "work" to much information. Turned home we need relax and not other information, other problems. We don't want to see other humans, we need more own space in the life, psychologists say.

Skydiving Dog
This photo and words are from the article of news.com.au about this skydiving dog. After his 2-nd jump the dog took part of the skydiving animals all over the world.
Dogs are strange beings. To be together with you, they do anything. I live and lived with different animals, but I think there is no other animal that is completely dedicated to it's human "god". You can kill him every day, but he continue to love you.
You know I adore cats for their perfection. But the cat is an independent being. It can love you, stay with you, but it lives from it's head, it has it's own opinion and it never does something if it not approves you.
The dog's life is not it's own life. It is a part of it's owner. The only important thing in it's life is to be together with you. Do you think, they are discendants of the wolves? As for me, they are something completely different. A separate part of humans soul.

What do you see on this photo?
So, now partecipate on the game, answer the question I posted in the title.
What is this? Where is this?
Before you look at the answer I tell you what I learned more in these polls today.
I learned about a traditional Asiatic meal called Balut that is nothing else that "a duck-egg with nearly developed embryo inside boiled alive."
No, I'm meet-eater and can't renounce on meat. We have to eat.
What I don't understand is this bravado of many persons: I ate alive snails, fin of the shark (that was then thrown alive in sea without fins), sushi. It's an other toy? Demonstration of own cruelty of persons that are cowards in their soul?
You will say I'm maximalist as a teenager.
Somebody has to kill animals that I eat. He looks in the eyes of the calf befor killing him. He has to do it. It's his work. I can't do it myself. I see these eyes many years after that film about abuses of animals.
To have good fur the polar foxes are killed inserting them an iron stick in the anus.
A person that works inthose farms has not have "special relations" with animals, because it will kill the soul of the person...
Excuse me if I am too philosophical today.
Here is the answer on the question you had:

What do you think about wild and stray (practically wild too) animal adoption as pets?
I think, I can hear your voices: Oh yes, it's great!!! The poor animal can receive food and roof -and love, first of all!
Are you sure, he needs it?
I'm not sure.
First, I think, wild animal (born and raised wild) loves his life and rarely can see human as "twin-soul".
I watch on my cats. I told you many times about them. There is great difference between Murka and Basja. Their behaviour. Our house is home for Murka and a place with some comfort for Basja. The kittens of Murka, born in our house were at home here. But the kittens of Basja, that she took here when they had about 2-3 weeks, felt better outside, it was not their environment.
Second, wild animals look for something good, when they come to you. Your love they see as your weakness and begin to treat you like a stupid. Because animals respect you if you can show them with good manners their place (if with bad, you become enemy) -it's a law of the nature. You know about problems many persons have with dogs, specially big dogs because they provoke more harm.
I don't say about ALL cases.

Don't look at my girl!
I write sometimes about animal's attacs at the persons that are too invasive. It's the new case, notice by Daily Mail from 4th january with entire splendid reportage of photos
Interesting is this quater, I really like it.

What happens with gorillas?
So the important thing to remember when you're invited into a silverback gorilla's backyard is just who's the boss.I say, we had once a cock and sold him to one friend. The cock was very happy to own some hen all for him. One day mother in law of that man wanted to take eggs and entered in the henhouse. The cock kicked her so grave that she passed the day in a hospital.
And this is the reason of this demonstration of force:
an American – got between the male gorilla and the true object of its attentions, a young female
He (this mail of gorilla) is even quite chummy with humans, whose money and patronage helps support the planet's desperately dwindling gorilla population.
There are currently fewer than 650 individuals scattered across several hundred square miles of this region and, without help, they could vanish.

Why they can?
This photo made me think once more about this: why animals of different species can accept one other. Why humans often can't accept not only animals of other species, but the same human species too?

Awards for SMILE
Thanks to all friends that mentioned my blogs in their posts
A very beautiful rose, you think? It's an Award distributed by the bloggers. No, THIS one is not for me. But Chris from The dog log mentioned me 2 times in her posts and it's the time to thank her for it. So, if you like awards-posts, go there to partecipate. You know it, I don't like this sort of posts. There are diferent reasons for it. First of all they have nothing interesting to read and to learn. They have even nothing to smile. So that is why I partecipate on this actions on my own way: I post a photo to make you smile and the list of your friends. I think it's good as Award and creates good emotions -that is important in our life.

Taking life of animals
These are words from the book telling us what was happend with Buddha. I'm sure that I could find something like this in Bible and in other Holy Books. The problem is I don't know them good enough. I wanted to add words from other religions here.
I think you understand my comments are not necessary.
One day, while the Buddha was staying in Jetavana,
some bhikkhus asked him if there was any benefit
in sacrificing goats, sheep, and other animals as offerings for departed relatives.
"No, bhikkhus," replied the Buddha.
"No good ever comes from taking life,
not even when it is for the purpose of providing a Feast for the Dead."
Then he told this story of the past.
