Macaques ...Terrible!

Macaques are maybe the most rude animals of the world. We learned it when we visited the Zoosafari park in Fasano (Puglia).

One of the attractions was the visit of the Macaques department in a train. We could not imagine what it will be and entered the departure place confident. Some of the visitors were expert -they had bags with peanuts and other nuts that is possible to buy in the bars inside the park.

The train, as you see, was a cage for humans. And there was a good reason to PROTECT humans.

This train passes through the territory of the macaques.

All the animals, everytime they see the train passing, run to receive the nuts from the visitors.

There are special tubes in the nets of the vehicle. They are eng but some monkeys shove their hands in these tubes, too. We were afraid that they can't take them out but they knew their possibilities perfectly.

It was a strange experience, you know. I did not see something like this before and was very impressed. Theose of that park knew what to do to entertain visitors. And there were many similar attractions there. We did a long way to reach that place but it was really very interesting.

Gooood Manners in a Zoo

Every zoo has meal times. And every animal receives it's own food that it needs for healthy and happy life. These beautiful giraffes appreciate their food so much -it's clear that these leaves are among their favourite. But the quantity seems to the visitor in the car not too big for all them...

zoosafari

Some of the inhabitants of the zoo have not developed good manners as you see on this photo: this ostrich thinks that stolen food tastes better...

zoosafari

But stolen food has not so good taste if nobody can notice how sly is the thief. So the ostrich -not satisfied with the leaves on the pick-up goes to giraffas and tryes to steel the same leaves from their pile. It knows they can't go out from their area and -in any case it is much more faster...

Dolphin Baby Born!

These splendid photos I received some minutes ago. It's the great notice and I'm happy to share it. Even if I'm surprized that all these zoos and parks (you will remember, I published different similar articles in the last period) send me their notices -that means maybe that they appreciate to be published in my blog...
Yes, I'm a travel agent and can sell you vacations and other tourist packages in all the SeaWorlds and other great places to visit in US and all over the world, but the notices I publish here are only my delight the event these institutions make me know about.

Look at this first photo! The mother is so content! I feel really great when I see something like this...

A dolphin calf was born Tuesday morning at 9:36 a.m. at SeaWorld Orlando. The calf weighs 35 pounds and is 40 inches long, with the sex unknown at this time.  It was seen nursing and bonding with its mom, both a good indication that the calf is doing well. Park guests can see the pair at SeaWorld’s Dolphin Nursery. In the nursery pregnant dolphins, new mothers, their calves and experienced moms live together.

Weight Loss Exercises

If you are attentive to the weight, you have to watch this video: how this walrus is brave to make aerobics.

From other side, it proves that the aerobics does not solve the problems of excessive weight.
Even if I don't know how is the ideal weight for walruses. :0))))

Baby Mexican Beaded Lizard

What a nice notice received I now! I post it here with my great joy and admiration. I'm sure, you will bewitched by this beauty so as I am! Here is the notice and the photos:

A baby Mexican beaded lizard, one of only two species of venomous lizards in North America, hatched on January 16, 2011 at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Beaded lizards have venom glands in their lower jaws that allow them to chew venom directly into their prey. There is no anti-venom to counteract a beaded lizard bite.

Zoo staff named the new beaded lizard "Gaspar" to honor Tampa’s annual pirate festival Gasparilla, during which beads are tossed out from parade floats. The hatchling can be viewed at Jambo Junction until it reaches adult maturity, and then it will join the adventure park’s four other beaded lizards in Curiosity Caverns

Splendid photo and Circus in our Village

Incredible beauty. Elegancy. Cats are the best models. But this photo is the best of all I've seen. You will agree with me.

I have to tell you about the transformation of our stray cats in domestic, too. It's maybe because the weather is not good: it rains just for a week. Both cats stay at home now. Kotja began to speak with me as his mother did. Very pleasant sound, I like it very much. He (Kotik) is not so stressed now, remains always near the house and likes to speak with me.

There is a circus in the village under our hill now. We passed nearby this evening. They have different big animals: tigers, camels, giraffe. All the population was there when we came. THey had little spaces for their cages to walk there. Unfortunatelly I had not my photocamera. Even the cell remained at home. In any case it was just night, too dark for the photos.

We wanted to join the crowd. One of the camels ate the leaves of a ficus. I was surprized: ficus is toxic as I know. Maybe camels can eat them, I thought. But than I thought the boys that gave to the animal a big branch of ficus...

The other camel was standing in a corner of own pen reeling, with the posterior legs bending...  We could not look at this poor stressed animal and went away. I would ban exotic animals in such places. They deserve respect for all they do for us...

Tampa park welcomes a baby giraffe

I rarely publish such letters -I receive tonnes of them in the last period, those who want to have advertising gratis. I published 2 of them to help poor persons, and now my mails are full of this kind of spam. Here I publish the interesting information and the photo they sent me.

TAMPA, Fla. (April 13, 2010) – Busch Gardens Tampa Bay welcomed a new baby reticulated giraffe just days ago. Weighing approximately 147 pounds at birth, the newborn is the calf of mother, Teesa, and father, Sterling. The addition brings Busch Gardens’ giraffe population to 15.

Mother and baby are currently in an area out of guest view so they can be closely monitored by zoo staff to ensure the baby is nursing and growing properly. The duo will join the other animals on the Serengeti Plain in a few months.

A giraffe’s gestation period is approximately 15 months, and the new baby will nurse for about one year. The term “reticulated” refers to the giraffe’s net-like pattern of spots. It is common for other members of the giraffe family to become involved with the care of newborns, and this baby will be joined by another new baby giraffe before summer. These births are part of a successful long-term breeding program at Busch Gardens.

Rule number one: Respect wild cats!

These videos do not need comments. I think you will agree with me.
In one comment about the tiger that killed a man in a zoo
(the man overpassed the first fence and put his camera into the inner fence where the tigers live, to take the best photo for his family. One of the tigers bite him the arm and the man died later from the lost of blood)
so, one of the visitors of the site wrote: these animals have to be in narrow cages ecc
In these cases nobody remembers WHY. The only thought is: kill them!!!

Rule number one: Respect wild cats!

Our visit to the Naples zoo

Sincerely I thought, the Naples zoo is very old and comes from the time of kings. But it's not so. It was open after the war, in 1949. Some years ago there was something terrible there, and they spoke, is necessary to close this shameful place. I don't want repeat everything what was said about it and what we have seen there. Poor animals. Some of them could find new houses, others died. Later somebody found money and it was decided to began the reconstruction. They say, it will be a beautiful natural park, "family park".

We wanted to see this new park and visited it last sunday.

It's not what we expected to see. Maybe it will grow with time.,There are some differences from the last time we were there.
There are not monkeys more. Those lived in cages where they could not move, befor. Somebody accepted them and gave them better life, I hope.
But nobody wanted the poor elefant. I can't see this suffering soul. Maybe I don't understand the situation.
Every time I see him, he does the same movement: he comes for the close door, as he wants to enter there, but the door doesn't open. He waits a little, then he goes away, and turns back to the door. Maybe the door did not understand, he is ready to enter. But the door doesn't understand this time too. He goes away, makes a circle and comes to the close door: I'm here, I want to enter. But the door does not understand...

In front of the entrance there is a "banana-forest". I like it very much. Now, you can hear sounds of birds and water (registered) here and in this period there are flowers of magnolia too.
The plants of banana are so great! They grow in this region, you can see them near many houses. But the weather not hot enough for fruits and - "no bananas". Other tropical and desert plants feel good here, like agavas. They are higher then persons!

Very attractive is a stank where you can see many birds.
A part of it is closed and there are only holes where you can watch birds without disturb them.
I think, birds appreciate it. Other sorts of birds are there in other areas.
These are flamingo in love.
And an owl hidden under the bush

Then we pass to the part, where you can see great cats. The cages are very old but now they are not in use more.
From some old cages is done one, where live leopards.
In front of them are tigers. 6 or 7 adult animals. Only siberian now, I think. They have always "kittens" and this time there was one couple in love, maybe. This is the male.
The old male is alown. He has not very good look. When we were here last time there were two littles, now they are those in first cages maybe.
This one was so quiet "I have no problems"...
The lions had no wish to go out. One of them decided to do some steps and began to chant. His photos are in the previous post.
The old cages of hedgehogs are leer. They remain here as example

We pass near deers and emu

The zoo has different levels. On the upper level, that you can see from here, there are giraffes. They had a wish to communicate with people that day. The admiring voices was possible to hear from all places of the zoo.
Finally we joyned the part with seals and bears. There were only 2 seals this time and only 2 tipes of bears. The seals don't wanted go out from the water, so I post here only photos of bears.

This bear was playing with plastic, people threw him.
And at the end an enigmistic photo of the vulture family.
What has the female nearby? I think it's an egg. Why has she it out from the nest? Or is it not a nest?
This is a closer immage

The Song of the Lion

Yesterday we were in the zoo of Naples. It's one of the oldest zoos I think (not sure).
I'll post the report about our visit tomorrow here, now I tryed to create a "video" with some of my photos. The "video" I call "Lion's song" because the lion is singing here. Unfortunatelly I have not the voice registation and I don't know where to find it. I like to listen songs of lions. Maybe if I was in Afrika, I would not say so :)))

The lions in Naples seem to be happy enough.
I hope you like my video, even if I was not very brave to create it. It was my first time with this program.
