Like to Complain About Our Pets:
1. They live here. You don’t.
2. If you don’t want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture.
That’s why they call it ‘fur’niture..
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it’s an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter
who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn’t speak clearly.

Other interesting information:
Moscow. In the families there are
1,7 millions of children
2 millions of dogs
1,5 millions of cats
+ birds, reptilies etc.
Do you think it's only in Moscow? I heared something like this about UK. Surely it will be not so here, in Sud of Italy where I live, there are not so many animal-lovers in our zone. But it will be the same in North Italy where there are many great cities and industry. Because I think it's the fenomen of great cities mostly.
I read once that Saint-Exupéry wrote: as more I know the dogs as less I love humans. Excuse me the bad translation but I hope the main thought is clear.
People in the cities do not maintain "normal" relations with the neighbours. They have not time to have them even with relatives. They do not make children because those need time and too much money.
Why are pets better? During the day we have to "work" to much information. Turned home we need relax and not other information, other problems. We don't want to see other humans, we need more own space in the life, psychologists say.

I can see the thinking there. A busy, stressful working life and you would want to come home to a soothing pet :O)
Animals which get to live with you are lucky!
I agree with you. When you come home at 17-18-19 and begin to resolve other problems it's really too stressful. Better to find there a loving pet.
They become addict and not lucky with time, Footiam, because they pretend more and more every day.
They are like human, aren't day? Maybe, they are terrible humans too in the past!
Maybe we have the same nature. If somebody makes good to us we pretend more and more when we had to great that being for being kind with us.
Tagging you for a meme I had at http://dhammadelights.blogspot.com/2008/12/meme-7-facts-about-me.html. It's just a game where you have to write 7 things about yourself and if possible, get 7 other people to write about themselves.
Very cute photo with the rat and the cat!

Thank you, Footiam, I'll write about it next days.
You are right, JB, probably the modern cats have their stomaches too round.
