The New Maine Coon Male Will Arrive Soon In Our Family

 This is Henri Le Grand, a 3 month Maine Coon kitten. The breeder has to vaccinate him the second time and he will be ready to leave his mum. By law, in Italy, cats can leave the cattery from three months of age. 

In fact, I believe that the right age for Maine Coons is 4 months because they are later in their growth and maturation. Our Philipp, who by all Maine Coon standards should already be an adult at 4 years, is still a kitten due to his behavior.

Maine Coon cats are like the gentle giants of the feline world, known for their large size, friendly personalities, and striking appearance. These majestic creatures have tufted ears, bushy tails, and a thick, water-repellent coat that comes in a variety of colors and patterns. They are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds, with males often weighing up to 18 pounds or more.

One of the most endearing traits of Maine Coons is their friendly and sociable nature. They are often referred to as "dog-like" because they enjoy the company of their human companions and are known to be loyal and affectionate. 

Maine Coons are also intelligent and playful, often engaging in games of fetch or showing off their acrobatic skills by leaping to impressive heights. Whether they are lounging on the couch or chasing after a toy, these gentle giants never fail to capture the hearts of those around them both humans and animals.

I believe that our Henri Le Grand will soon come to us.

When I got Timur, his breeder warned me that these cats are addictive: You need to buy more and more of them 🙂 🙂

I understand that I shouldn't do this, but I'm happy that there will be a new naughty one in the house. He will keep Filipp company who cannot convince the now old females to play with him.

Gibbon Catching Tigers

I've watched a short part of this film once. We had a series of films on National Geographic, I think, that we watch very often and with great joy. This episode was part of the story of one Indian female tiger. And, if I don't mistake, the episode was very very short.

My friends found full story in You Tube and sent me today. And I share the video with you.
So, who is the master in the house? Tiger or Gibbon?

Who Visits Your House?

Notices about animals are dedicated to one theme, sometimes. I read a feed today and noticed that there were different incidents when wild animals were found in the houses of the unaware owners.

One woman from New Zeland heared her cats and dogs making too much noice, went in the kitchen and found a young seal sleeping on the sofa. The seal entered the house through the cat door and was able to go upstairs till the kitchen. Different persons told to the police officers that they've seen the animal walking in the town, too.

The other case is about a bear that was found by a cable man in Sussex, US, in the basement of a house where he had to work. The man called police and when the rangers came, the bear was just awaked in the street. Tranquilized, the animal was transported in a forest.

Cologne, Germany. An employee found a snake crowling on the staircase of his hotel. Police arrested 3 Chinese men that had 100 snakes, 70 tortoises and 20 frogs in their luggages.

Exotic Animals in the Medieval Books

There are many fables about animals that we know and love till today. We understand that some authors of the books did not see some of exotic animals they wrote about. It's the case of the lions where females were represented in the same way as the males, dragons etc. Here I want to show you animals painted in a medieval book I've seen in the museum of Montecassino (Montecassino and Salerno Main Churches are Twins ). Enjoy and try to guess the species.

Friendship between Animals

I was surprised when I watched these videos about these relations -well, it's not friendship but this trust is incredible,you will agree with me. After these 2 I found different other similar videos and you know, I can't understand: how is it possible that cats, dogs do not have the sense of danger? Why are they not afraid of these monsters that come from other world, water?

I know about the friendship between different species of animals in the zoos. I explain it to me that the animals feel too alone, abandoned, closed in a prison. But the animals in these videos are free, there is nobody and nothing who can push them in a similar adventure. And they are simply curious, they transfere their comportment on the aquatic mammals... It's strange, don't you think?

A Monster Video

There are many stories about all kinds of "monsters" survived on the earth despite of the unrelenting desire of humans to destroy everything possible on this planet. I said many times that I believe in the existance of some of them -like Yeti (there are different posts about it on that page).

Here is a new for me video about Nessie. Sincerely I do not believe it was a real "event", probably it's a show. But in any case it's interesting to watch and that is why I post it here.

Elefants on the Bridge

Stumbling, I found this interesting photo:

 and could not believe my eyes. Is it a true photo or a collage? I could ot understand but than I had these ideas "contro":
The bridge seems to be not adapt for the place.
The elephants have nothing to do in such places even if guided by the humans that seem to be less intelligent than animals.
Animals would not go all together on that bridge, I think.

Puppy, a Son of a Cat

You can see a normal cat's family on my photo. The mother and 2 her kittens. And you think maybe the cats make always other cats? You are wrong. I found a notice among the news today about a cat that had a puppy in Georgia.



Journalists told this story to entertain readers, but scientists say, it's unpossible because the biology of 2 species is too different that they could mate.

True or not -itßs not the first case in the world. 4 years ago one cat had 2 puppies in Brazil and the cat's owner said he saw it mating with the dog of the neighbour.

Maybe you are right because you have a TV, visit zoos and see lions relatively often. Sometimes the artists have to paint or make a sculpture of something or somebody that he/she had nevewr seen before. On my next photo is the entrance in the Dom of Salerno.



There are a lion and a lioness symbolizing the power and the love of the church. A medieval sculptor had never seen a lioness. So, the lioness for the door has a mane. And maybe it's the only lioness with the mane in the world!

Is It True Shepherding?

We have seen so many GOOD (I like them, many of them are relly good) advertising videos. Most of them were about cars. This one... I don't know. I've watched it different times to understand if it's truth or are those computer games. I do not know what to say. I don't believe.

Very Understimated Capacities Of Animals

You know me, I say all the life that the animals have the same emotions and even much more superior capacities as we have. There were times when they cryed I'm so stupid etc, than they sad:yes, animals can have their feelings -maybe. Now with the new technologies more and more scientists public their researches results where they say, animals have very special capacities.

Everybody knows today, the elephants can hear with their feet. The confirm of some time ago: the dogs can comunicate with the sounds we canot hear. You, my readers of this blog, you remember you laughed when I told you the story how our dogs deceived us knowing that we can't hear them when they speak this way?

Some time ago wrote here about the very low sounds that the tiger makes when threatens. Wedo not hear this sounds with the ear but we hear them the same.

Today I found very interesting article in Telegraph.co.uk Secret abilities of animals revealed where they write about the world of sound. About bats. By the way, do you remembe the splendid photos (because MINE!) of my post Bats Are Back! ?

To Feel Like An Animal

The scientists created virtual programs that allow the persons to see the world so like the animals see and hear it.

The so-called "immersive" exhibit shows what it might be like to see with birds' ultraviolet vision or hear with whales' ultra-low frequency hearing. (Source)

It could be interesting to visit these shows. I did not know that the dogs can percept ultrasounds even if I said it many times that the dogs can "speak" between them so that we don't hear -and what is most interesting that they know it, this fact that we are not able to hear them. And they USE this possibility to deceive us. Many persons said me that I'm not right -but you see - I AM RIGHT!!!

A Goat And A Sheep

I know this couple different years. And they are always so: the goat is the boss and the sheep is always one step back and repeating every movement of the goat.

A year ago there were different goats and different sheep. This year remained only these two. The others were not from the same "company" even if they had this strange behaviour. Who knows, are the goats more indipendant? Need all the sheep to follow somebody? I don't know it. I rarely see them in my life.

Sunday I've seen in TV a story about a sheep that thinks it's a dog, a border colly that works in the factory looking for the herd of sheep together with 4 other dogs. And this "dog" does everything the other dogs do.
It's mother, of that lamb, was dead giving it to the light. The newborn lived with the persons and dogs -and now it's a "dog" too.

Preparations To The Cow-Competition

The most important for every breeder is the competition. If you have any animal of a certain breed, you will contact this desease: you want to partecipate on the competitions, you surely think your animal is the best and you want to win. If it is your pet -there is nothing too terrible when you will lose. Even if you can ask more money for puppies if your dog/cat won a competition.

If your animal is a cow and you are a breeder, these competition become very important for you.

The agricultural shows are very important for the cow-breeders bacause they can show, sell their animals, but they can raise their status -and the prices- if they win. So in the show you can see the breeders walking with their animals -to learn them to walk among the persons.

I laughed very laud when I saw this scene. What is the worker doing, do you think? He is shaving the udder to make the young cow more beautiful and attractive. So is she washed, brushed and even shaved for competition now.

These beauties are not so young if we look at their udders. But they are all washed and shaved as it seems, too. They have to be sold maybe.

Max And His WC

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom.
If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut,
it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob
or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open.
I must exit through the same door I entered. Also,
I have been using the bathroom for years
- canine or feline attendance is not required.
"Note to pets"

This beauty is Max, a young cat that lives in S.Petersburg.

Max lives with his owner practically from his first days. He had about a month when she found him. Many important things he learned in his life he learned watching and repeating what she does. Among other things he went always with her in the bath and understood clearly what is it made for. So, he doesn't want to use his special places but uses only wc.

Interesting is that he has special positions for big and little necessities and pretends the wc is cleaned with water every time after big ones. He goes out of the bath and begans to cry. Because it's unpossible to use it for little than, if wc is not clean.

Max goes to live in a village every summer. The family had a great problem when they built a little house there. The problem was to find this antique model of wc -specially for Max. They said me, they had to visit all the specialized shops in S.Petersburg till they finally found one.
